A Discussion That Involves All of Us is Underway – Commissioner Belen Gebremedhin
August 24, 2025 (Dese)
The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission has been holding community discussions in Dese town, Wollo cluster of the Amhara region, since August 22, 2025, bringing together diverse groups to contribute to the national dialogue process.
The forum has actively engaged youth, women, and persons with disabilities from different zones of the region.
During today’s session with persons with disabilities, Commissioner Belen Gebremedhin highlighted the commission’s ongoing efforts to ensure that the dialogue process is inclusive and accessible to all.
According to the commission’s organizational framework, persons with disabilities are not only recognized as a distinct community group but are also represented across other sectors, including youth, women, teachers, and government employees.
Commissioner Belen emphasized:
“The commission represents all of us; it embodies all of us. That is why the dialogue is ongoing.”
She further reminded participants that persons with disabilities, as integral members of society, have a rightful role in contributing their perspectives and solutions to the work of the commission.
