Special Announcement: Upcoming Activities of the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission
The House of Peoples’ Representatives recently reviewed the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission’s four-year progress report. After considering the achievements to date and the work still ahead, the House approved an extension of the Commission’s mandate for an additional eight months.
During this extended period, the Commission will focus on the following key activities:
• Launching and convening the dialogue process in the Tigray region
• organizing and prioritizing agenda items by the Council of Commissioners, followed by public announcement
• Recruiting and providing training to dialogue facilitators and conveners for the national dialogue conference
• Holding an inclusive national dialogue conference
• Compiling policy recommendations emerging from the conference and monitoring their implementation
• Carrying out large-scale outreach and mobilization efforts to engage the public
• Advancing documentation and digitalization initiatives
