The Commission Holds Dialogue-With-Stakeholders Meeting of Tigray

The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission conducted a discussion with stakeholders of Tigray origin residing in Tigray and Addis Ababa. The session aimed to gather diverse input to shape the forthcoming dialogue process in the region. Representatives from various bodies attended the meeting.
In his opening remarks, the Commission’s Chief Commissioner, Professor Mesfin Areaya, emphasized that dialogue is the only viable path to addressing the region’s current challenges. He noted that the process will be meaningful only if the people of Tigray are actively involved.
Professor Areaya reviewed the Commission’s past activities and highlighted major steps and upcoming initiatives in the region. He also outlined the key challenges encountered and urged attendees to share responsibility for the success of the process.
A question-and-answer segment followed, during which participants offered constructive recommendations that could assist the dialogue process. The Commission affirmed that the ideas generated from the discussion will serve as valuable inputs for the Tigray dialogue process.
