Participants Reach Consensus on Majority of Agenda Items: Deputy Chief Commissioner Hiroute
 
The Ethiopian National Dialogue Conference has reached its final stage, Deputy Chief Commissioner Hiroute Guebre Sellassie said.
 
Speaking at a press conference, the Deputy Chief Commissioner said a committee is currently validating and cross-validating recommendations submitted by the thematic working groups. The committee is also reviewing the recommendations to identify and address redundancies, inconsistencies and contradictions among the proposed agenda items.
 
She said the remaining major activities include presenting the cross-validated recommendations back to the thematic working groups and, subsequently, submitting them to the plenary, which comprises around 4,000 participants, for acclamation and approval.
 
According to Deputy Chief Commissioner Hiroute, participants have reached agreement on the majority of the agenda items deliberated during the conference, describing the progress as a significant indication of the success of the national dialogue process.
 
She also acknowledged that some complaints have been raised during the process, noting that the Commission is addressing them in accordance with its established guidelines and procedures.
 
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to completing the National Dialogue Conference in line with the established methodology and ensuring the proper implementation of the remaining activities.
