ENDC to present dialogue recommendations on September 20
At a press briefing held on 10 September 2026, the Chief Commissioner of the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) Professor Mesfin Araya provided a retrospective overview of the major activities and achievements of the Commission to date.
Highlighting the Commission’s major undertakings during the fiscal year, the Chief Commissioner stated that the concluding Ethiopian year had been a year of significant achievement for the Commission.
He noted the considerable efforts made to ensure the inclusiveness of the national dialogue process. Besides, he highlighted the Commission’s efforts of conducting the process within the Tigray region and engage armed groups in the dialogue process as one of its major achievements.
Speaking about the progress of the national dialogue process, the Chief Commissioner explained that agenda items collected from the Ethiopian diaspora, stakeholders in different regions, and federal-level stakeholders had been consolidated and prepared for the National Dialogue Conference. This created an opportunity for Ethiopians from different sections of society to engage in a constructive national dialogue.
The Chief Commissioner further announced that the recommendations resulting from the dialogue process will be presented to the House of Peoples’ Representatives on 20 September 2026.
