ENDC Strengthens Engagement with Media Houses
August 9, 2026
The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission has continued to engage media professionals and media houses to support public awareness and reporting on the national dialogue process.
Since the launch of the National Dialogue Conference on July 15, 2026, the Commission has maintained formal engagement with 54 media houses and 461 reporters covering the dialogue process.
According to a report prepared by the Commission, media houses have played an important role in supporting the pre-dialogue phases by contributing to public awareness based on information and briefings provided by the Commission.
The report notes that these engagements have helped media professionals report on the dialogue process with greater understanding and responsibility. The Commission has also emphasized that its engagement with media houses is intended to provide access to information while respecting journalistic and editorial independence.
The Commission has recognized the efforts of media houses that have consistently disseminated information about the national dialogue through their platforms, including the Commission’s social media channels, and those that have maintained a physical presence to cover the process.
The Commission has called on media houses to continue contributing to public understanding of the national dialogue by providing timely and accurate information.
The report also encourages the public to seek information about the national dialogue from credible media outlets that maintain formal engagement with the Commission.
The Commission presented the report to its partners supporting the media and outreach activities of the national dialogue process.
