October 4, 2025

The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) held concurrent consultations in the Somali, Benishangul Gumuz, and Harari regions, as well as the Dire Dawa City Administration, under the theme: “The Role of Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities in Ensuring the Success of the National Dialogue Process.”

In their opening remarks, Chief Commissioner Professor Mesfin Areaya, Commissioner Belain Gebremedhin, and Commissioner Mulugeta Aggo emphasized the critical contributions of women, youth, and persons with disabilities to fostering sustainable peace through inclusive dialogue. They also highlighted the importance of these groups’ active participation in shaping a unified and peaceful nation.

The consultations featured presentations on the significance of the national dialogue process, followed by in-depth discussions among participants. These engagements reflect the ENDC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships and promote inclusivity in the dialogue process.

Notably, the Commission has previously conducted similar initiatives in the Amhara region, including clusters in Dessie and Bahir Dar, demonstrating its commitment to nationwide outreach and collaboration.
