ENDC Continues Agenda Validation with Civil Society Groups

The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) has continued its discussions with civil society organizations as part of the ongoing process to validate draft agenda items for the national dialogue. The session created an opportunity for partner organizations to review the draft agendas and share additional ideas and recommendations.

Speaking at the program, Chief Commissioner Mesfin Araya said the Commission’s close engagement with civil society groups has played an important role in helping the process remain inclusive and neutral. He also noted that the purpose of the validation sessions is to make sure the agenda items reflect broader public concerns before they are officially tabled for dialogue.

Deputy Chief Commissioner Hiroute Gebreselassie, while presenting the draft agenda items, called for stronger participation from all stakeholders so that the agendas can be further enriched through collective input and discussion.

Commissioner Melaku also explained that the draft agenda items will continue to be improved in accordance with Article 6 of the Commission’s establishing proclamation.

The program brought together representatives from several organizations, including the Ethiopian Teachers’ Association, the Ethiopian Idir Association Coalition, the Ethiopian Federation of Associations of Persons with Disabilities, Ethiopian for Inclusive Dialogue, Timran, and Destiny Ethiopia.
