The Ethiopian National Dialogue Process Recognized as a Model by U.S. Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett

Members of the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission held discussions with a delegation led by U.S. Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett. During the meeting, the Commissioners provided an overview of the progress achieved in the dialogue process, highlighting key milestones as well as upcoming activities.

Congresswoman Plaskett commended Ethiopia’s ongoing efforts, emphasizing the critical role dialogue plays in advancing peacebuilding. She cautioned that approaches which exclude dialogue are counterproductive and underscored that constructive dialogue remains the most effective and sustainable path forward.

Furthermore, she stated that Ethiopia’s national dialogue initiative should be regarded as a model for other countries, recognizing its potential to serve as an international example in fostering inclusivity, stability, and peace.
