The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission held a consultative meeting with representatives of professional associations

The meeting, held under the theme “The Active Role of Ethiopian Professional Associations for the Success of the National Dialogue,” brought together various professional bodies to discuss their contribution to the process.

Addressing the participants, Chief Commissioner Professor Mesfin Areaya emphasized that the role of professional associations is vital for the success of the national dialogue. He acknowledged and appreciated the efforts these associations have already exerted in supporting the process.

Professor Mesfin also noted that the Commission has been doing its utmost to ensure the participation of different political actors, including those in the Tigray region. He highlighted that formal engagements are underway with the Tigray Interim Administration.

In light of these developments, the Commission called upon professional associations to continue supporting its efforts, particularly in creating a conducive environment for meaningful dialogue in the Tigray region.
