The Commission Holds Discussions with Abu Dhabi Peace Forum

A delegation of the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) held discussions with the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum Committee, a body known globally for its commitment to advancing inclusive dialogue.
During the meeting in Abu Dhabi, the Forum’s Chairperson, Dr. Kelifa Aldahri, highlighted the Forum’s major activities, including initiatives to promote peace values and establish dialogue centers that counter extremism narratives in the region. He expressed his strong hope for the success of Ethiopia’s national dialogue initiative and pledged to provide technical assistance where needed.
Professor Mesfin Araya, Chief Commissioner of the ENDC, thanked the Forum for its warm reception and insightful briefing. He shared the rationale behind Ethiopia’s national dialogue process and outlined the Commission’s key achievements to date. Professor Mesfin also commended the United Arab Emirates for its experience in embracing diversity and serving as a global model, adding that Ethiopia is committed to resolving its internal challenges through dialogue and moving forward on a path of development.
Ambassador Omar Hussein (PhD), Ethiopia’s Ambassador to the UAE, emphasized that the engagement reflects the deepening of people-to-people relations between Ethiopia and the UAE.
The discussions concluded with both sides agreeing to sustain their engagements throughout the Ethiopian national dialogue process.
The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission will continue its activities with an agenda collection event scheduled for September 20, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, Al Garhoud, Dubai.
