The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC), in collaboration with the Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations Council (ECSOC), held a joint meeting in Bishoftu to review the Commission’s first quarter activities and outline upcoming priorities.

In his remarks, Commissioner Melaku Woldemariam highlighted the vital role of civic society organizations in advancing the Commission’s mission over the past years. “Holding hands together, let us build a nation that lasts for generations,” he stated, underscoring the importance of collective effort in building a sustainable future.

ECSOC Director Terefe Degeti, on his part, commended the Commission’s commitment to collaboration and reaffirmed the council’s dedication to supporting the national dialogue process.

During the meeting, experts from the Commission presented key achievements of the past three months, including: ongoing efforts to initiate dialogue in Tigray, progress in collecting agenda items from Ethiopians living abroad, and preparations for the upcoming national dialogue conference.

Looking ahead, the Commission identified three priority activities: launching the dialogue process in Tigray, conducting diaspora dialogues, and organizing the national dialogue conference.

ECSOC pledged continued support, announcing plans to broadcast a dedicated radio program on the dialogue process from October 2, 2025 to January 8, 2026. Additionally, the Commission is set to roll out large-scale digital outreach initiatives to expand public engagement in the coming months.
