Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission Engages with National Elders Council

The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) held a productive meeting with the National Elders Council today, as part of its ongoing efforts to foster inclusive national consensus on key issues facing Ethiopia.
During the discussion, the Chief Commissioner highlighted the Commission’s mandate to lead a deeply rooted and participatory dialogue process aimed at building lasting peace, unity, and reconciliation across the country. The ENDC has made significant progress in gathering public input, having engaged constituency representatives from 1,234 woreda nationwide, as well as federal and regional stakeholders, and members of the Ethiopian diaspora.
The Chief Commissioner noted that preparations are advancing for the dialogue process in the Tigray region, following recent consultations with local stakeholders. Upon completion of the regional phase in Tigray, the Commission plans to convene the national dialogue conference to bring together diverse voices for broader discussions.
In closing, the Chief Commissioner appealed to the respected elders for their continued guidance and support in advancing the Commission’s work.
In response, members of the National Elders Council commended the Commission’s dedicated efforts and pledged their full commitment to supporting the process through to its successful conclusion.
