Commission Reviews Achievements of the Year
September 10, 2025
The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission held a press briefing on the activities carried out during the ending Ethiopian year and the major tasks planned for the coming year.
In a statement delivered by the Commission’s spokesperson, Tibebu Taddesse, it was announced that the past year witnessed the active participation of Ethiopians both at home and abroad, contributing their agenda items and selecting representatives for the upcoming national dialogue conference.
The spokesperson highlighted that the collection of agenda items from the public was one of the year’s key successes, as citizens were able to raise their ideas in a democratic and inclusive manner.
He further explained that efforts have continued to bring on board political parties that have not yet engaged in the process, as well as armed groups, and to initiate dialogue in Tigray. In addition, awareness of the dialogue process among the wider public has grown over the year.
Looking ahead, the Commission plans to continue collecting agenda items from the diaspora, selecting representatives for the national dialogue conference, expanding participation to include bodies not yet engaged in the process, setting agendas, conducting the national plenary, and presenting the dialogue’s recommendations.
